Our help@cit.ucsb.edu email address is the best way to contact the CIT team.  If you have a departmental help@ address that feeds to CIT, that is a great option too.  If you have an urgent or time-sensitive need, feel free to call us, or stop by one of our offices for immediate assistance.

College Help Desk

For anything from a quick question to a request for complex technical assistance our help@cit.ucsb.edu email address is the best way to contact the CIT team generally. Ticket correspondence will contain a tag in the subject line: [Queue #TicketNumber]. Including this tag in an email subject line or replying to existing ticket correspondence will update the ticket.

Instructional Support

Specific support for Canvas and with developing courses is available at the Canvas Support and Knowledge Base site.  If you need support for technology in classrooms where you teach, please contact the Classroom and Instructional Technology Team.  We are happy to help with all other matters involving computers and Instruction.  This includes efforts that combine Instruction with Research, office and cloud software that you use to develop Instructional materials, and any other IT need that doesn't specifically fall under Canvas or Classrooms.  For these and other items, or if you are not sure who to contact, reach out to us at help@cit.ucsb.edu, and we'll assist you directly, or get you to the team that can.

CIT Web Hosting and Development

CIT is broadly responsible for websites, web development, and web hosting for Departments, Centers, and other groups within the College of Letters and Science.  We are here to work with you to meet your web needs.  The web team can be reached directly at web-help@cit.ucsb.edu

The CIT Systems and Infrastructure group provides support for server architectures, networking infrastructure, research computing, machine learning, container-based automation, and software development.  

Research Computing, Support, and Consultation

We at CIT have deep expertise in support of Research Information Technology and consider Research IT as the core of what we do. We can provide assistance, consultation, implementation, and development through the life of your research project.

Systems Support

Linux and Windows Server administration and support. Management includes engineering and maintaining data integrity and communication solutions.

Network Administration

CIT Networking experts provide physical layer infrastructure and network address management for servers and workstations across the college.

Software Engineering & Development

CIT has some ability to provide limited programming support for the creation and maintenance of internal tools and outward facing services.  If you have Software Engineering needs, please contact us as early in the process as possible.
